The 2018 Chardonnay Cuvee Alyce is rich and vivid, yet also light on its feet. A wine of real personality and character, the Alyce is intense and yet not at all heavy. Lemon peel, almond, dried flowers and sweet spice are all nicely lifted in a classic, understated Chardonnay that will drink well with minimal cellaring. | 93 points, Antonio Galloni for VinousProduced from the highest elevation and is a product of 3 clones; the Hyde/Wente, the Hudson/Wente, and French Dijon Clone 95. These clusters are extremely small and the berries are the size of BB's; offering rich and flavorful wines. My mom, Alyce, was an exciting Lady with over-the-top energy and appeal. This wine takes after her. | Walter Hansel WineryAntonio Galloni calls Walter Hansel "some of the most consumer friendly wines readers will come across ANYWHERE in California", and we can't agree more. When tasting this wine blind, I almost always place a higher value on it and then get a pleasant surprise at the true price.Cuvee Alyce 2018 Chardonnay opens up with a flinty petrol nose drifting up out of a perfectly medium yellow color. There is great palate weight in the medium viscosity. Mouth-filling and amazing from front to back with juicy impressions of Comice pear, chammomile, & Champagne mango. There is a light and latent tannin that flirts with the acidity for a playful finish. | Falling Bright
