What happens when a lazy French winemaker marries and adventurous American?Old-school tradition mingles with new-school know-how.Moderation is balanced with moxie.Classic Burgundian restraint meets the raw potential of California fruit. And a great wine is born.Flocchini in the Petaluma Gap (90% of the fruit for this wine) is producing a vibrant Wente selection of Chardonnay, which could be straight from Meursault (the origin of the Wente selection). It is classy and stunning, always keeping a fresh turn to its original minerality. We are adding 10% from Gap's Crown Chardonnay this year adding so much texture to the core of the wine. | Vivier Wines...matured in around 10% new oak foudres and barriques, is fresh and intense on the nose with scents of red apple, lemon peel, crushed almonds and yogurt. The light-bodied palate has a satiny texture and unfurls slowly to stony citrus flavors. Its concentrated, generous fruit is balanced by focused acidity, and it has a long, mouth-coating finish. I love this energetic, expressive Chardonnay! | 93 points, Wine Advocate
