2018 Scarlett Petite Verdot by McGah Family Vineyards | Napa Valley California RED

100% Petite Verdot...dark as a moonless night filled with immense violet floral aromas along with blueberry compote, lilacs, and a slight minerality. Multilayered with Bing cherry and black fruit flavors, this wine's perfectly ripe tannins, due to its open top fermentation, lead to a dense mouthfeel that is sensual and bold yet light on its feet. Dark blue fruits, slight floral notes, and sensual femininity are framed by medium bodied tannins, hints of pipe tobacco and lilacs...145 cases produced. | Scarlett Wines

2019 Levo 2 2 Tango Petite Sirah | Central Coast California RED

From Stolpman, RBV, TTT, and Kimsey vineyards, 77% Petite Sirah wth 14% Graciano and 9% Syrah...dense purple-hued and has an assortment of black and blue fruits as well as bouquet garni and sappy herb notes. With full-bodied richness, a monster of a mid-palate, remarkable purity, and a great, great finish, it's a brilliant Petite Sirah that should evolve for a solid decade in cold cellars. | 96 points, Jeb Dunnuck

2019 Y. Rousseau Clarksburg Tannat
| Clarksburg AVA, California RED

Yannick Rousseau takes his deep connection to his heritage in the Gascony region of Southwest France and honors it with his artisan approach to winemaking in California. Each wine, from his dry and crisp Colombard to his award winning Tannat has a uniquely soulful expression of place and craft. The 2019 Tannat hails from a single vineyard that is Certified Sustainable in the Clarksburg AVA. The wine opens up with intense aromatics of black mission fig and blackberry pie then shows off amazing complexity with anise, violets, whole peppercorn, and dark roast espresso. The palate brings forward all the fruit from the bouquet and a retro-nasal hit of worn saddle leather confirms the complex nature of this bold red. Full tannins, confident structure, and gentle acidity make Poodle turns down a snowy lane to a trophy finish. | Falling Bright
