This is Cabernet the classic way from a family owned operation in Washington State. The fruits stay focused and fresh upfront with ripe cherry, dried cranberry, and red currant. Hints of crushed oregano and mint climb high into the aromatics and lace the edges of the palate. 35% new French oak makes a subtle impression and barely tames the tannins that retain an adventurous foothold in the finish.
Ideal vintage conditions across the Yakima Valley vineyard sites of Elerding, Red Willow, DuBrul, and Outlook brought a bright and balanced Cabernet with high toned red currant and lush florals. Lovely aromatic notes of pomegranate, red plum, black pepper and sweet baking spice are interlaced with a fine tannin structure and flavors of dark berry, toast, and vanilla.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot from standout Columbia Valley vineyard sites of Bacchus, Dionysus and Phinny, as well as Gramercy's Estate Octave Vineyard, Andrew Will's Two Blondes, and Chris Figgins' Loess Vineyard in Walla Walla. Jeb Dunnuck notes it is "impeccably balanced and beautifully concentrated" and invokes the beauty of Margaux to describe the elegant character of this wine. Ethereal florals up front with seasoned tobacco, cedar, and graphite filling in the background confirm this high compliment.
