Known as "The Land of Promise", Terra de Promissio has an ideal terroir for pinot noir. A truly delicious example of what the Sonoma Coast can produce. Strawberry fruit, spice and floral notes are just the beginning. Bold, dark cherry rides consistently on the palate with very balanced tannins that give an almost white pepper component to the wine. Great, subtle acidity is balanced by smooth vanilla and baking spice. 100% Pinot Noir, 100% French Oak; 35% new for 10 months. |SensesThe 2018 Pinot Noir Terra De Promissio comes from a Sonoma Coast site and was all destemmed and aged 10 months in 25-40% new French oak. A Gevrey-like nose of mulled red and black plums, Asian spices, scorched earth, and earthy forest floor give way to a rich, medium to full-bodied Pinot Noir that has terrific balance, plenty of acidity and tannins, and a great finish. It has lots of upfront fruit yet has a firm underbelly and excellent structure. It's going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age, and my money is on it evolving for 10-15 years. | 95 points, Jeb Dunnuck for jebdunnuck.comWith vineyard sites in the "Grand Cru" of California including B.A. Theriot, Charles Heintz, and Terra de Promissio, this passion project of three friends with winemaking by Thomas Rivers Brown is impressive right from the start. As long-time fans of Littorai wines, we are excited to see the expression of these sites from Senses. |Falling Bright
