2021 Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc | Russian River Valley, Sonoma County California 750ml
Our Sauvignon Blanc has a fan club - people who try our Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc for the first time are often moved to reach out to us to share their experience, and we love it. The special care we take to bring out the very best in this variety shows in our results. We use a specific mix of clones - two-thirds Shenandoah (Clone 1) and one-third Sauvignon Musqué - that results in a wine brimming with floral and tropical fruit aromatics with a citrusy, juicy core. Barrel fermentation and twice-weekly lees stirring help us create the characteristic creamy texture and rich body that you've come to know and share with your friends and family. The first swirl in the glass releases fragrances of white peaches, lime zest, delicate white pineapple and ripe stone fruit. Upon entry, the creamy texture is buoyed by bright acidity, Ruby red grapefruit, white blossoms and citrus flowers linger on the seamless finish. | Merry Edwards
This white offers a complex mix of lime sherbet, makrut lime leaf, lemon curd and orange blossom flavors that are fragrant and complex on a fleshy, succulent frame, with notes of nectarine and ripe Crenshaw melon. Harmonious, with a fresh thread of acidity on the finish. | 94 points, MaryAnn Worobiec, Wine Spectator Insider
Aged sur lie for four months...the floral components we have come to love from this wine, year after year, do not disappoint. An English garden shows off a luxury of scents and flavors, white petals scattered on a bright Spring day. Juicy pear and white peach are enhanced by a hint of guava. Lush on the mouth, with an inherent crispness from this variety. |94 points, Meridith May, Tasting Panel Magazine
Aromas of nutmeg, melon and white peach. Weighty but balanced mouthfeel, combining disparate flavours of pecan oil, cheese rind, oregano and vanilla bean. Opulent on the mid-palate before landing on the finish with a pointed acidity that integrates with time in the glass. Strikes a stylistic midpoint between birght, creamy, and aromatically exuberant. | 91 points, Matthew Luczy, Decanter
