Sparkling wine production at Merry Edwards is a rare release. Our 2013 Blanc de Blancs comes from Chardonnay grapes grown at the stately Olivet Lane Vineyard. The clusters were pressed whole and the juice was then barrel fermented. In June 2014, the cuvee was bottled with the addition of yeast and sugar to support secondary fermentation. The wine was then aged en tirage for seven years. The wine was disgorged in November 2021 and released just shy of one year on the cork. The nose is tantalizing, with fragrances of crusty brioche, pineapple and caramelized golden apple. This wine is firm and impressive upon entry, with notes of white peaches, almond paste, white flowers and yeasty bread dough. The acidity is balanced and lively and brings just the right amount of tension throughout a creamy, elegant finish. | Merry Edwards
