A Rioja-like blend...the deep purple 2017 Beyond Category spent 26 months in 47% new French oak prior to bottling. With lots of cassis fruit as well as notes of ground pepper, spiced meat, graphite, and dried earth, it hits the palate with gorgeous purity of fruit, full-bodied richness, and classic Tempranillo structure and tannins.
