Cab Franc was the first wine Kobayashi made in 2014 and it's hard to believe that next year is our 10th vintage! We have found our groove with this wine, as it is undeniably Franc when you smell and taste - it couldn't be anything else. This wine is aged in large oval French Oak foudre, which absolutely harneses the herbal and minty red fruited components that we love. Wine writer Eric Guido came to visit us at the winery last year and said 'this might be the most varietally correct cab franc I've ever had.' Which would likely horrify many people working with franc that want to over-ripen the distinctive character out of the wine.
