Coming mostly from the Dr. Reid Vineyard in Coombsville, the 2021 Malbec is based on 77% Malbec and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon. A smoking wine, it offers juicy black cherry and blueberry fruits as well as some tobacco, chocolate, and graphite nuances. Winemakers and proprietors Anna & Mario Monticelli have a long list of experience in the craft that includes working with estates in Bordeaux, Tuscany, and Napa. Anna was at Chateau Cheval-Blanc for the near perfect 2000 vintage. Mario worked harvests at Villa Antinori.
