Averaen Riesling is sourced exclusively from the Tunkalilla Vineyard, a tiny specialist Riesling vineyard perched on the southern facing end escarpment of the Eola-Amity hills, planted in Volcanic Jory soils, just above the Missoula floodline at 600 feet elevation. Late-ripening and windy enough to mitigate overt disease pressure. We picked at the very early stages of botrytis development.
Tropical and floral nose are highlighted by dried pineapple and a saline minerality. Generous and pallet coating entry of Asian pear and mango lead to precise acidity that carries the wine to the finish.
