2023 Lucia Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir by The Pisoni Family | Santa Lucia Highlands Monterey County California 750ml

Sporting a medium ruby/plum hue, the 2023 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard reveals smoky black cherries, graphite, crushed stone, and roasted herbs. Rich and medium to full-bodied, this concentrated and structured Pinot Noir has ripe tannins and needs 2-3 years of patience. Built for the cellar, it will age beautifully over the coming decade or more. The wine sees 5% whole cluster fermentation and 11 months in French oak barrels, 55% new. | 94+ Jeb Dunnuck for jebdunnuck.com

The Pisoni Family has made their mark on California viticulture with over three generations of farming world-class sites in the Santa Lucia Highlands. The Lucia Wines are made alongside the wines of the Pisoni Estate with the same commitment to excellence. The Garys' Vineyard bottling is the single vineyard offering from a Pisoni Family site that is farmed in partnership with Gary Franscioni.

Located in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands on sandy loam soil, the esteemed fifty-acre vineyard is planted mostly to Pinot Noir, with a small allotment of Syrah. Given its proximity to Monterey Bay, fog blankets the Garys' Vineyard throughout most of the summer months, providing the right conditions for a cool, slow-ripening season. Steve Heimoff of Wine Enthusiast praises Garys' Vineyard for its "fabulous terroir," which yields "wines of impeccable balance and lushness".

A deep ruby in the glass promises intensity that is delivered in this 2023 Lucia Pinot Noir from Garys' Vineyard. Nearly thirty years old, this vineyard continues to settle into lower yields, creating great concentration of flavor. Decomposed granite soils make the vines work hard to survive and this tenacity is revealed through this complex yet structured bottling. Aromas of black cherry and plum leap from the glass, followed by hints of baking spice. Bursting flavor is balanced by firm tannins that give depth to this bottling. Drink now or cellar from 10+ years. 758 cases produced. | Lucia
