2019 Aperture Cellars Soil Specific Cabernet Sauvignon | Alexander Valley Sonoma County California 750ml

96% Cabernet Sauvignon 3% Merlot 1% Malbec
Focusing first on the cabernet fruit from four mineral-rich, volcanic soil sites nestled on cooler hillside slopes in the Alexander Valley, this vintage's blend is uniquely crafted with delicate inclusions of merlot, malbec, and petit verdot. | Aperture Cellars

World famous photographer Andy Katz is "changing the way the world sees wine" through his lens while his son, Jesse Katz is "changing the way the world drinks" with his inspired and accomplished winemaking talent. Together they present a polished and approachable Cabernet aged in French Oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. The black fruit influence on the palate is welcoming and expands in complexity with dark chocolate & espresso. Given a good decant, the potential reaches further and pleasant hints of cedar and juniper lay out in an open-work fashion across the finish.| Falling Bright

Still in barrel, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep ruby color and bursts from the glass with detailed aromas of violet, tar, cassis, liquid cherries, and graphite. This young wine has a stunning perfume! The palate is pure and grainy. Bursts of freshness lift its perfume, and its pure flavors linger a long time in the mouth. | 95-97 points, Erin Brooks for The Wine Advocate
