Description

2012 Pierre Morlet Champagne Brut Grande Reserve Premier Cru | Avenay-Val-d'Or Marne France 750ml

Based in Avenay Val d'Or, Champagne Pierre Morlet comes from a family of winegrowers for 5 generations. Passionate craftsmen, our vines are cultivated according to traditional methods and we make every effort each year to contribute to sustainable viticulture and offer you unique, rare, expressive Champagnes, true to the style of the House.
Our vineyards are cultivated by applying traditional methods and sustainable farming practices, resulting in rich, structured, seamless and refined wines. A tour through the historical caves will amaze you, as you see how each generation of the Morlet family expanded the underground cellars.
The family's philosophy is based on authenticity, excellence, and craftsmanship. The hillside vineyards, deep chalky subsoil and temperate microclimates provide wonderful and unique conditions for the Pinot Noir (74%) and Chardonnay (26%). Emphasis is place on the natural characteristics of the different vineyards terroir and on the personality of each vintage. The first fermentation occurs in French oak demi-muids barrels, and the Champagnes are then patiently aged for a minimum of three years on the cool and quite underground caves. | Morlet Family Wines

Dewy fields, fresh hay, and soft-ripened brie are present on the forward aromatics followed by flavors of rustic country loaf with raw honey and beeswax and a latent sensation of lemon curd and chamomile in the close. The finish is balanced with just enough acidity balancing 3g/L dosage that translates to soft and playful farewell. | Falling Bright
