The difference between something great and something perfect is often subtle. At Fait-Main, the rigor of French tradition and the creative spirit of Northern California come together in the tireless pursuit of perfection. Fait-Main means "handmade" - a name that reflects care, craft, and the singular expression of each vintage. | Benoit Touquette, Fait-MainBeckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is one of the heritage vineyards owned and farmed by the Beckstoffer family, and has been planted to vineyard for over 150 years. The clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon vines we use are lyre-trained to let in light and air. The Beckstoffers and I have collaborated over the years to dial in the farming of my portion, in particular, the use of shade cloth to late in the season. The soft filtered light in the heat of summer helps us maintain even ripening, allowing us approachability without sacrificing age-ability in the finished wine. The wines grown from this rocky site are structured and masculine. Left bank-inspired, but very much at home in St. Helena, as I am. This connection with home inspired the crest on the Fait-Min label, from my hometown in Lyon. | Fait-MainGlass-staining purple and 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard has a more backward, inward style with beautiful darker, savory red and black fruits, spicy oak, graphite, and cocoa powder aromas and flavors. It's rich, powerful, concentrated, and full-bodied, with serious tannins and length. I continue to think this vineyard has hit a new level over the past 4-6 years, and this certainly adds fuel to the fire. Napa Cabernet Sauvignon simply does not get any better... | 100 points, Jeb Dunnuck for jebdunnuck.com
