This is an exemplary Red Mountain 100% Cabernet... it exhibits a semi opaque ruby color and an intoxicating nose of wild blackberries, black cherries, black plums, black roses, pipe tobacco, cedar, sandalwood, juniper berries, anise, eucalyptus and smoldering incense. The flavors are fleshy and accessible yet authoritative with dark fruits that are intermixed with black licorice, dark cacao, extra dark roast coffee and Red Mountain scorched earth. The concentration continues on the back with macerated berries, roasted walnuts, mocha, kirsch, integrated toasty oak (60% new French) and ground charcoal, all leading seamlessly into a firm yet sweetish fine grained tannin finish. | 19+ out of 20 points, Rand Sealey
