Post Parade is quintessential Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon crafted by Winemaker Thomas Rives Brown from two vineyard locations that deserve a mention: Tench Vineyard in Oakville providing a powerful structure and the Red Head Vineyard in the Southeast side of Napa Valley just below Atlas Peak where clone 685 Cabernet Sauvignon gives a plush appeal to the final blend. This is a Cabernet with an intense personality wrapped in a shapely figure. The 2016 vintage is opaque, dense, and velvety. Aromas of plum and elderberries mingle with scents of saddle leather and cocoa. The slightest hint of mint is on the finish with latent flavors of black cherry, black forest cake, and black walnut. | Falling BrightMost of the projects I work with focus on one site and what you harvest is what you get in a given year. Both of these sites are A+ pieces of dirt but contribute vastly different attributes. So, we have the luxury of blending across sites and AVAs for quality and consistency while still being able to play to each vintage's strengths... | Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown for Post Parade...the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Post Parade is a ripe, decadent 2016 that makes the most of the vintage. Tons of ripe black raspberries and cassis flow to a wine that has full-bodied richness, a sumptuous, exuberant texture, no sensation of weight or heaviness, and terrific purity. This wine is all Cabernet Sauvignon and was brought up in 90% new French oak. It's a pleasure-bent beauty to enjoy over the coming 15-20 years. | 95 points, Jeb Dunnuck for jebdunnuck.com
