Description

2016 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir | Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey County California 750ml

From a mix of Garys', Rosella's, and Soberanes vineyard (there's also a tiny amount of Pisoni), the 2016 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands leads with its beautiful fruit and has lots of blueberries, cherries, spices, and candied violet-like aromas and flavors. Drink this medium-bodied, seamless, elegant 2016 anytime over the coming 4-6 years. | 93 points, Jeb Dunnuck for jebdunnuck.com

A blend of untamed herbs and vivid red fruit. Aromas of freshly peeled apples with wet minerality. Notes of vanilla nd mint. Provocative and polished, with a silky, lingering finish. Vineyard source: Garys', Rosella's, Sierra Mar, Soberanes | Kosta Browne

Each vintage, Kosta Browne showcases the character of Pinot Noir across California in a collection of appellation-specific blends. An earnest expression of the place reveals the shape of each wine. Crisp red fruit, freshness, and precision mark the Sonoma Coast blend that includes fruit from Gap's Crown, Kanzler, and Griffin's Lair vineyards. The Russian River Valley blend has that hallmark texture with a full mouthfeel and a broad palate of ripe raspberry, cherry, and pomegranate. An abstract playfulness runs wild through the Santa Lucia Highlands blend where five vineyard sources - all farmed by the infamous Garys (Pisoni & Franscioni) - contribute savory game flavors, whiffs of olives and dried fruits to a deeply structured wine. Each is unique and full of character with a sure sense of identity. |Falling Bright
