Description

2013 Williams Selyem Burt Williams' Morning Dew Ranch Pinot Noir | Anderson Valley Mendocino County California 750 ml

Explosive aromatics of black cherry, pomegranate and elderberry immediately emerge from the glass, while subtle touches of mandarin orange and vanilla keep the nose fresh. A surprising note of nectarine further adds to the complex aroma. Fleshy on the palate, there is weight without heaviness, owing to the balanced acidity. In the mouth, minerals and finely textured tannin seem to cling to the palate and finish with a spicy cherry pit impression. Again, patience is required in this glorious effort. -Winemaker's Notes, Williams Selyem

Morning Dew Ranch is the 40 acre property in the Anderson Valley AVA of Mendocino County purchased by Burt Williams after his sale of Williams Selyem to John and Kathe Dyson in 1998. The 600 ft elevation and far north position in the "Deep End" of the Anderson Valley make this a very cool climate site producing wild flavors of cherries and berries with vibrant acidity and effective tannin. The 7 planted acres of vineyard include Pommard, Dijon 115 & 777, Rochioli, and "suitcase" DRC clones. -Vineyard Notes, Williams Selyem
