A harmonious blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Grenache, the Luli Rosé presents itself with a beautiful pale apricot color. The cool, foggy days of the Santa Lucia Highlands and Arroyo Seco appellations are expressed through fresh aromatics of candied watermelon, white peach, and crushed strawberry. Lively citrus and red berry flavors are enhanced by crisp, focused acidity, leading to a refreshingly dry finish. | Luli Wines
The wine, a blend of the 27 varieties inter-planted at our family's vineyard is roughly Zinfandel, Carignan, and Mataro with the remainder being everything else found in the field. The rocky site yielded a small amount of dense and balanced fruit and as always this wine features the savory, spice-infused character of Sonoma Valley. vineyard | Morgan Twain Peterson for Bedrock Wine Co.
The 2016 Grenache Larner Vineyard is also brilliant stuff. A blend of 80% Grenache, 18% Syrah, and the balance Viognier, it has a pretty, elegant, seamless, and medium to full-bodied style as well as textbook dark fruits, peppery herbs, damp underbrush, and bay leaf-like aromatics. Brought up in mostly neutral puncheons (the Syrah was brought up in 50% new oak), it's drinking nicely today yet will keep for 7-8 years. | 93 points, Jeb Dunnuck
