2016 Purlieu Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard | Napa Valley California 750ml

"There's somthing about these vineyards that screams First-Growth quality." | Robert Parker

Winemaker Julien Fayard with Philippe Melka consulting, taps the legendary Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard for a single vineyard selection at Purlieu. The result is Cabernet with deep inky color, intensely black aromatics, and grounded minerality.
| Falling Bright

In Greek, To Kalon means "most beautiful". Within the Napa Valley's Oakville AVA, this vineyard is widely considered a "Grand Cru" of California. We get our fruit from Andy Beckstoffer, a legendary grower in the Napa Valley who owns a large portion of this prestigious vineyard...Each individual vine's needs are uniquely tended to in To Kalon. The soil is mostly clay loam, which drains well and stresses the vines, thereby producing smaller and more concentrated grape clusters. | Purlieu Wines

Visit here for notes on Winemaker Julien Fayard whose experience includes estates such as Lafite-Rothschild, Quintessa, and Atelier [Philippe] Melka and clients such as Lail Vineyards, Gemstone, and Dalla Valle.

...a wine to cherish for years to come - a true Napa Valley classic. Fresh and vibrant, this vintage is defined by candied red fruit aromas and dusty earth notes, rounded with subtler shades of mint, sweet red fruit, and a touch of forest floor. Seamless structure, effortless power, and iconic aromatics make this full-bodied vintage a must for To Kalon collectors. 119 cases produced. | 98-100 points, Robert Parker
