Both 2015s were tasted out of barrel and the 2015 Grenache le Chemin Vers l'Heresie is 75% Grenache, 13% Mourvedre, 8% Touriga Nacional and the rest Petite Sirah. It saw 44% whole clusters (all from the Grenache and Mourvedre) and will see just under two years in mostly used barrels. Tight, fresh, full-bodied and structured, with very little baby fat, this serious 2015 sports a deep purple color as well as classic notes of black cherries, garrigue (wild herbs, thyme, rosemary, fennel) and spice. Coming from mostly equal parts The Third Twin, Cumulus and Eleven Confessions vineyards (there's small portions from Bien Nacido and Molly Aida), it will be interesting to see if this opens up slightly once bottled, or if it stays in this tight, closed style. In either case, the cellar is going to be your friend.| Jeb Dunnuck for jebdunnuck.com, 95-97 points
